The Benefits of Black Currant, Elderflower and Other Botanical Skincare Ingredients
Here’s The Botanical Ingredients That You Should Add to Your Skincare Routine
At Hälsa, we pride ourselves on being a luxury skincare company that focuses on natural, high quality and impactful ingredients. We custom formulate our skincare products, selecting individual ingredients for their specific nourishing, moisturizing and anti inflammatory benefits.
Our products are all botanical based and here we highlight five of our star ingredients … some of these may surprise you!
Black Currant
Black currants are little black berries packed with vitamins (A, B-5, B-6, B-1, C and E), minerals and antioxidants. Black currant is beneficial for hair, skin and overall health. Typically people take black currants to help with blood flow, immune health, eye health and more, but less known is how great black currant can be for the skin.
When black currant is pressed into an oil, it’s been proven to slow the effects of aging by reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Because it contains antioxidants, it helps restore skin cells to create a healthy and natural glow. Black currant for skin can even help with conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
Hälsa Glow Luminous Facial Serum is a great way to add black currant to your skincare regime.
Elderflower
Elderflower is another superstar ingredient with many beneficial qualities. This flower, with the botanical name Sambucus Nigra, is used in cooking, medicine, perfumes, as well as skincare.
It contains antioxidants that help to protect against the sun and promote blood circulation, as well as vitamins A, B, C and E, which have been proven to improve complexion, even out skin tone and help make facial skin firmer. Like we said, elderflower offers superstar skincare benefits
You’ll find elderflower in several Hälsa Skincare products, including our Dream Enchanted Night Creme, Glow Luminous Facial Serum and Smile Refresh Eye Creme.
Frankincense
When you hear Frankincense, you might think of perfume, incense or aromatherapy, but it actually has many benefits for the body too. It can be inhaled, taken as a supplement, steeped into tea or applied to the skin. Frankincense comes from resin in the boswellia tree and is known to have a distinct sweet and woody aroma. While the western world knows it as frankincense, in the east it’s also known as olibanum.
Frankincense benefits for skin care include promoting the growth of new cells. This means that it helps skin heal faster while reducing fine lines, uneven skin tones, and even acne scars.
If you’re ready to add frankincense to your skin care routine, you’ll find it in Hälsa Dream Night Creme and Relax Golden Turmeric Bath Salts.
Honeysuckle
Japanese honeysuckle, or lonicera japonica, is one of the oldest medicinal herbs and has been used historically in Chinese medicine. Among its many beneficial properties is that its anti-bacterial and rich in antioxidants, making it a natural cleanser and good at protecting against free radicals that damage the skin. It also conditions the skin, making it smoother and more even in tone. We love honeysuckle and use it in Hälsa Breathe Facial Masque, Dream Night Creme and Glow Facial Serum, as well as our Comfort Soothing Salve.
Swedish Twinflower
Another Hälsa signature ingredient also comes from the honeysuckle family. Swedish Twinflower, also known as linnea borealis, is a green plant that produces pairs of little pink flowers that resemble a bell-shape. Extracting the oil from the flower provides an incredible moisturizing ingredient that conditions and soothes skin, helping create a younger looker, fresher and glowing skin tone.
Hälsa Calm Body Oil and Relax Golden Turmeric Bath Salts are two ways you can add the benefits of Swedish Twinflower oil to your body care.
Hälsa products use a range of nourishing botanical extracts and oils, plus powerhouse ingredients like hyaluronic acid and of course, broad spectrum hemp, to ensure all of our products nourish and protect your skin. You can find more about our products and natural skincare at halsabotanicals.com.
